The New Zenvo Aurora
There’s a lot to say about the new Zenvo Aurora but, having looked through the description on the Zenvo website, there were no words we could write that got our hearts pounding more than the ones we saw – “6.6-litre quad-turbocharged V12 engine, developed by MAHLE Powertrain. Producing 1,250 bhp and revving to 9,800rpm, this bespoke powerplant is a 90-degree hot-V configuration, mid-mounted behind the cockpit. It is then enhanced further by a lightweight triple electric motor system, generating an extra 600bhp. The resulting 1,850bhp seamlessly blends instant power and torque, delivering naturally aspirated engine-style throttle response, and make this powertrain the most powerful V12 engine ever fitted to a road car.”
Albeit the new project does sound exciting, the brand is still plagued with concerns regarding reliability and performance. Zenvo has always been iconic in style but funnily enough, not so iconic in terms of powertrain and build quality. Few were built and few were bought, especially after the brutal depiction gave by former Top Gear host Jeremey Clarkson!
However, since the release of the first Zenvo (the ST1) newer models have come into play and most recently the TSR-S has made a hell of statement to the car world. With staggering track performance and the revolutionary auto moving rear wing, we know there is something within the brand worth exploring.
Considering Zenvo’s success trajectory, we can only imagine what the Aurora is going to be like. Each car, each year and each rendition of every model just keeps getting better. Although Zenvo still has some way to go before it can stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini, its crucial to remember that progress isn’t achieved overnight and in 10 years’ time, they might just.
